Whatever your interests, Oysterbed and the Sneem area offer a fantastic choice of exhilarating and fun activities to suit all ages and levels of experience.

There are few other places where one can enjoy the outdoors in such visually stunning and dramatic scenery, from dazzling lakes with dramatic mountain backdrops to hidden valleys and panoramic ocean views......kayaking, snorkelling, diving, surfing, coasteering, whale & dolphin watching, low level walking trails, hill-walking, cycling, horse riding, sea & freshwater angling, golfing, painting, bird watching, photography, nature and wildlife....or simply relaxing.

The Kerry Way is practically on our doorstep and provides 215km of signposted walking routes that pass through some of the most spectacular and dramatic countryside, and offer an amazing choice of gentle or rugged routes from beaches to mountains, short trails to 4-day treks. This walk has it all.

Kerry is a paradise for anglers and you'll be spoiled for choice. South Kerry has some of the finest sea, river and lake angling. For Salmon fishing, the best systems in the area are the Currane, the Caragh and the Killarney Lakes/Laune River systems. We can advise you on the best local operators to ensure your day on the water will be an unforgettable experience, and hopefully you'll be taking home dinner! Closer to home, fishing off Oysterbed pier is also a possibility for dinner!

For beach lovers, one of Ireland's most beautiful Blue Flag beaches is at Derrynane - a spectacular beach with miles of sand where adults and children can enjoy water sport activities (qualified instruction and gear hire available). With the backdrop of mountains and the 320-acre Derrynane National Historic Park you can enjoy spectacular scenery from the wonderful upland and woodland walks and then relax over lunch in the restaurant at Derrynane House or enjoy a drink in Keatings bar just a couple of minutes walk from the beach.

Kerry is the home of links golf and the Kerry coast is studded with some of the best links courses in the world. These offer breath-taking ocean views while away from the coast you'll find stunning courses that sit in the valleys between the mountains and challenge every skill level from beginner to pro.

Parknasilla golf course is on our doorstep, and within a 45 minute drive from the house there is a superb choice of courses: world class Waterville (2 courses), Ring of Kerry, Kenmare, Killarney (3 courses). A little further afield there is Tralee, Ballybunnion, Dingle and.Dooks. For golfers, life just doesn't get any better than this!

Oysterbed Harbour, with its stunning scenery and clear, sheltered waters is an idyllic spot for kayaking, diving/snorkelling, wildlife watching. Guided kayaking trips can be booked locally and are a fabulous way to explore the amazing beauty of the bay, navigating around its numerous islands and inlets and meeting lots of cool wildlife up close! Life jackets and gear are provided by the operators. Local operators also offer full/half day guided sightseeing and fishing trips - all the necessary equipment and safety gear is provided by the operators.

Try some fantastic and exhilarating adventure with a day of coasteering. Wander off the beaten track and experience some of Kerry's dramatic coastline with sea caves, precious marine life and spectacular jumps into the Atlantic.
